Meditation and Meditative Exercise

The food you eat has an enormous impact on how you feel. A diet loaded with sugars and fats will guarantee a continuation of negative and suicidal thoughts. On the other hand, a diet full of fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats is a perfect way to aid your recovery.

While it can be difficult to make time to cook healthy meals, there are ways to ensure you mainly eat beneficial foods. The two easiest ways to guarantee a home cooked meal every day are slow cookers and freezer meals. Slow cooker meals can be prepped before your day begins and will be ready when your day ends.

Freezer meals can be prepared at the beginning of a week and defrosted throughout. Regardless of how you do it, be sure you are eating as well as possible. Do your research and learn to distinguish truly healthy foods from pseudo healthy foods.

Replace Negative Vices with Positive Outlets

Addiction to any number of common vices can make recovering from a suicide attempt much more difficult. Alcoholism is a common problem people who struggle with suicidal thoughts experience. Of course, drug addiction is also more common among people who have contemplated self-harm, but drugs are much more difficult to come by and are far less socially acceptable.

If you are struggling with addiction on top of suicidal tendencies, seek help. Focus on both addiction recovery and counseling for depression. In the meantime, find a replacement outlet for your addiction such as a fun hobby or exercise.
