Police Notices

Every day we publish a summary of Australian Police notices, including missing persons, persons of interest, potential witnesses, alleged offenders,  as well as other matters the Police may require assistance with. This is an aggregate of items published by all states on social media, is not intended to be complete and remains a research project.

You can access all notice documents generated to date here: trueblueline.s3-website-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com

We are not aware of any feeds published by NSW or WA Police at this time, except for their respective Facebook timelines.

Work in Progress

The system is constantly evolving to improve the quality of the notice documents. We search various sources for specific keywords and aggregate the messages that match those keywords. The system is not perfect and some messages may look out of place.

For example, if we look for “witness” or “can you help us”, normally we match the correct text, but sometimes you may see message like “Witness the lunar eclipse” or “Can you help us donate to banana research”. We’re working on the AI/neural network and pattern matching so that we can improve the relevance of content.

If you’re interested in helping us, we can provide you the C#/.NET source code.

Removal

Please contact us if you wish to have your picture or details of your incident removed. For example, if you have been reported missing and then found, we will remove any mention of it to protect your privacy. You should also contact the original poster: you can call, fax or email the Police station and they will delete the tweet or Facebook post.
