Lincolnshire Police Star In ITV Show ‘Rookies’

Lincolnshire Police Officers are set to star in a new ITV fly-on-the-wall documentary following rookie cops during their first year of training in the field.

With rare, intimate access to the Lincolnshire Police, the trainees and their families, Rookies will follow the new recruits venture as they out onto the streets under the watchful eye of an experienced veteran.

They come face to face with the area’s most violent criminals and learn to deal with abusive members of the public who do not respect the police.

Filmed over one year this series focuses on the ‘breaking in period’ – the toughest and most emotional part of the training process.

Alan Hardwick, Police and Crime Commissioner for Lincolnshire said: “The series is a good reflection of what we do.

“We do take a bit of a chance when we take part in these TV programmes but we have faith in the force and they never let Lincolnshire down.”

The 24 new recruits were the lucky elite from the thousands of people who applied for the job.
