Tasmania Police Officer Injured In Car Ramming Incident
A 17-year-old Mowbray male will face court on Thursday night charged with a string of offences.
Police charged the teenager on Thursday afternoon with two counts of aggravated assault, stealing and evade police.
One aggravated assault charge and the evade police charge relate to a hit and run incident in Gaunt Street, Invermay on Wednesday night.
Police allege the 17-year-old rammed a police car and injured an officer about 8.30pm.
Police alleged he reversed out of a driveway into the police car and sped off soon after and crashed into a tree.
The officer involved suffered whiplash and was in his car looking for the alleged offender when the incident occurred.
The officer is 50 years old and has worked for the force for 33 years.
He has been granted time off work as a result of his injuries and was released from hospital on Wednesday night.
The 17-year-old’s other charges of stealing and another count of aggravated assault relate to a separate incident earlier this week.

Officers Escape Injuries as Queensland Police Car Rammed Twice
A Police car was rammed and narrowlly missed being struck again when when two separate vehicles drove at it in Tewantin last night. Just after midnight police patrolling in an unmarked vehicle tried to intercept a car on Noosa Cooroy Rd but the car failed to stop.
A marked police vehicle also attempted to intercept the car but it sped off and police called off their intercept attempts. Police stopped their marked vehicle a short distance behind the car when it reversed rapidly towards them.
The officer tried to avoid the collision by also reversing but were struck by the other car. The police vehicle sustained moderate damage. The male officer, and sole occupant, was uninjured.
The vehicle was described as a silver Ford sedan bearing New South Wales registration BJ65UF with a male driver. It has possibly sustained some damage to the rear, as a result of this incident.
Police are also investigating an unrelated incident that occurred a short time later. Around 12.35am whilst two officers were waiting with the damaged police vehicle they attempted to intercept a van on Wentworth St when it allegedly drove directly towards the police vehicle.
One of the two officers had to take evasive action to avoid being struck. This vehicle was subsequently found abandoned in Muirfield St, Tewantin, a short time later.

Queensland Police Officer Injured After Police Vehicle Rammed At Holland Park West
The driver of a stolen car rammed a police vehicle, injuring an officer, as well as damaging two other vehicles in a bid to evade police at Holland Park West this afternoon.
Around 12.30pm a police car pulled up in a line of stationary traffic on Logan Road, near the intersection with Nursery Road. Officers, checking the black Volkswagon Tiguan station wagon in front of them, identified it as a stolen vehicle.
An officer alighted from the un-marked police vehicle, approached the station wagon and spoke to the male driver.
The driver, caught in the line of stationary traffic, reversed the stolen car at speed into the front of the police vehicle. The station wagon then drove forward and shunted two other vehicles out of its way before driving away at speed.
The driver of the police vehicle, a male constable, sustained minor neck and back injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment. No one else was injured.
Three vehicles, including the police car, sustained minor damage.
Patrols of the area failed to locate the station wagon with police appealing for anyone who may see a black 2009 Volkswagon Tiguan station wagon (with panel damage), Queensland registration 792 MRE to contact police.
Members of the public are advised not to approach the vehicle or the driver, if they sight the station wagon.
The vehicle had been stolen on August 11 from Ascot.

Brisbane Police Interception: Man Tasered, Dragged From Vehicle In Fortitude Valley
A man has been slapped with more than 15 charges after allegedly ramming a police car and smashing into two other vehicles in dramatic scenes in Fortitude Valley on Friday night.
Police allege they had been following the car on St Pauls Terrace about 11.30pm on Friday when it did a U-turn and rammed the police vehicle. The car’s windscreen, driver and passenger-side windows were smashed, in an apparent attempt to stop the driver from fleeing. Police drew their firearms, tasered the man and dragged him from his vehicle to take him into custody.

Man Charged With Ramming Queensland Police Car, Possession Of Drugs And Weapons
A man has been charged with ramming a police car and two other vehicles in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.
Police say they were following a stolen car on St Pauls Terrace when the driver did a sudden U-turn and rammed a police car and two parked cars.
Officers were able to corner the vehicle but the driver reversed and rammed the police car a second time.
