Corinth Officer’s Gun Used To Shoot Him In Chest And Shoulder

A Corinth, Mississippi police officer, is recovering after being shot twice early Wednesday morning.

Officer Kevin Parker, Jr. was responding to a prowler call on Bell School Road when he was shot around 4:40 a.m. 

A man ran in front of his car, charged the officer and was able to get his hand on the officer’s gun during a struggle and turn it on him.

Funeral of Mississippi Officer Draws Hundreds of Police From Across US

Several hundred law enforcement officers, including several from as far away as New York City, paid their respects on Thursday to the family of a slain Mississippi police officer.

The outpouring of support for the family of Patrolman Benjamin J Deen has come from across the country, Hattiesburg’s Mayor Johnny DuPree said. Services were being held at Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. He was to be buried in nearby Sumrall.

Two Hattiesburg Police Officers Shot; Suspect Being Sought

Officials have confirmed that two Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Police Officers have been shot in Hattiesburg on Saturday evening. Both officers were transported from the scene to Forrest General Hospital. The condition of the officers is currently unknown, and their identities are being withheld.
