Victoria Police Seize Methamphetamine Worth $4 Million

Two men have been arrested after police found $4 million of ice in a car in Melbourne.

Police spotted a man acting suspiciously in a car in Cairnlea in the early hours of Wednesday and another man was under the rear of the car.

A search of the car found a 3.5kg package of ice worth $4 million and six mobile phones, and the men, aged 28 and 24, were arrested at the scene.

Police Find 10 Drug Labs or Crops Every Week Across Adelaide

Police are uncovering about 10 cannabis crops and drug laboratories a week across Adelaide as they continue to crack down on suburban suppliers.

A Freedom of Information document, obtained by Family First MP Robert Brokenshire, showed 773 drug operations were found across the six metropolitan police districts from December 2013 to May.

The Holden Hill district recorded the highest number with 201 uncovered, followed by Elizabeth, 180, Western Adelaide, 135, and South Coast, 103.

The Sturt and Eastern districts each had less than 100 drug labs or cannabis crops seized, with 96 and 58 respectively.

Operation Mike Tyras: Massive Amount of Cannabis Seized By Queensland Police Service

Operation Mike Tyras investigates organised commercial drug network operating from the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane. Queensland Police have discovered $1 million worth of cannabis smuggled in a false floor welded into the back of a ute on the Gold Coast.

nvestigators intercepted a white ute on the Warrego Highway at Withcott on June 4, following a tip off that the vehicle, travelling from South Australia to Queensland, might have been carrying illicit drugs.

They discovered $5000 in cash and noticed a false floor had been welded into the back of the ute.

Upon further search investigators discovered a “sophisticated” hydraulic-operated false cavity below the tray, containing 200 one pound bags of cannabis at an estimated worth of $1 million.

The tip off was obtained during Operation Mike Tyras, which was an eight-month investigation into an organised commercial drug network operating from the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane.

Queensland Police ‘Freeze’ Sunshine Coast Ice Trade In $1.5m Bust

Eight months, 92 arrests, 214 charges and at least three kingpins charged under VLAD legislation.

The result: $1.5 million worth of ice was taken off our streets, after Sunshine Coast Police smashed a highly-sophisticated drug syndicate.

The multi-agency operation, which kicked off last October yesterday came to fruition, as police conducted raids across the Coast, in Landsborough, Mooloolah, Caloundra, Kawana, Maroochydore, Yandina and Sunshine Beach, charging 41 residents with drug trafficking in the final stages of Operation Mike Tyras.

More than 2.5kg of methylamphetamine (ice) was seized throughout the course of the investigation, which saw police target the syndicate in regional centres throughout Queensland, including Cairns, Moreton Bay, Ipswich and inner and outer suburbs of Brisbane.

Queensland Police Bust Mother And Son In Large Meth Trafficking Operation

Specialist drug investigators have busted a lucrative ice trafficking ring allegedly turning over more than $1 million a month in the state’s far north.

Detectives will allege the sophisticated syndicate was run by a 47-year-old woman, whose son, 24, was one of 15 other people charged with 33 offences including drug trafficking.

“Police will allege she was the principal of an organised ring which, during the six-month operation, mainly trafficked ice with a street value of $6 million,” Queensland Drug and Serious Crime Group head Detective Superintendent Jon Wacker said.

“From the evidence gathered, it would indicate that the syndicate was turning over about $560,000 (worth) of ice every couple of weeks.”

Esperance Raids By WA Police Net Cash, Ice, MDMA, Cannabis And More

Police have seized $23,000 cash and a significant quantity of illicit drugs in several home raids in the Goldfields-Esperance region of WA.
Esperance Detectives, with the help of drug detection dog Jake and his handler, carried out search warrants at four properties in Esperance, West Beach, Nulsen and Monjingup on Wednesday and Thursday.
It is alleged methamphetamine, ecstasy tablets, cannabis, drug paraphernalia and sums of cash were found.

$2 Million Methamphetamine Haul Seized By NSW Police In Glebe Raid

A man will face a Sydney court after police raided an inner-city home and found more than $2 million worth of the drug ice.

Police from Redfern Region Enforcement Squad executed a search warrant at a home in Glebe on Tuesday afternoon and found a large amount of drugs believed to be methamphetamine, $25,000 cash and “other items”.

Traffickers Used Commercial Airlines To Move Drugs Between Gold Coast and Mackay

Police say they have shut down a major drug ring that had shifted large amounts of ecstasy and amphetamines between the Gold Coast and Mackay, including on commercial flights.

Detective Inspector Terry Lawrence said those involved were obtaining the drugs on the Gold Coast and either driving or flying them on commercial airlines to Mackay.

The year-long operation, dubbed Operation Mike Variety, came to a close yesterday with 40 arrests on the Coast and in the north Queensland town.

Detectives from Taskforce Maxima executed 30 search warrants – 10 on the Coast and 20 in Mackay – with at least 10 of those arrested members of outlaw motorcycle gangs.
