Theresa May Tells Police Federation To Stop ‘Crying Wolf’ In Most Brutal Speech Yet

Theresa May has shown she is in no mood to be reconciled with the Police Federation, ferociously attacking it for a second year running and demanding it stop “crying wolf” over the threats budget cuts pose to the public.

In her annual speech to the federation’s conference, which was even more strident than last year, May accused the representative body of “scaremongering” with its repeated claims that cuts to budgets would damage British policing and change it beyond recognition.

Her comments suggest relations between the Home Office and the federation, the angriest and loudest voice against government reforms to policing, will not improve any time soon.

Support Your Local Police: Stroud, NSW Police Station May Close Down

The Stroud community has come together to start a petition which was out and about last Friday in conjunction with ‘change.org’ as The President of the NSW Police Association Scott Webber is asking NSW Government to close all one and two man Regional Police Stations, due to terrorism fears.

Police Community Support Officers To Go In Nottinghamshire Budget Cuts

About 70 Police Community Support Officers in Nottinghamshire are likely to lose their jobs in the latest round of cuts to the force’s budget.

Police and Crime Commissioner Paddy Tipping has confirmed he is “regrettably” in consultation with unions about how the reductions will be made to save around £2.8 million.
