Man charged over domestic incident – Peakhurst Heights

A man has been charged after allegedly causing serious injury to another man during a domestic incident at Peakhurst Heights.

About 1pm today (Friday 4 November 2016), an altercation took place between a 42-year-old man and a 33-year-old man at a premises on Jinnah Road, Peakhurst Heights.

During the altercation the younger man allegedly struck the older man in the face with a piece of wood which had nails protruding from it, causing a deep laceration.

Police were called and attended a short time later, establishing a crime scene.

The victim was taken to St George Hospital for treatment.

Boy charged after damaging property – Tuggerah

A young person has been charged after allegedly committing numerous malicious damage offences at a shopping centre on the Central Coast before threatening a person with a toy pistol in the car park.

About 11am yesterday (Friday 4 November 2016), a 17-year-old boy was at a store in a shopping centre in Tuggerah, when he became abusive towards staff.

He then allegedly damaged racking as well as two mannequins, causing significant damage to them.

As he left the shopping centre, the boy allegedly smashed a large glass panel on a sliding door.

He then became involved in an argument with unknown person in the car park, pointing what appeared to be a pistol at them before driving from the scene.

Woman dies in farm accident – Tomerong, near Nowra

A report will be prepared for the Coroner after the death of a woman in a farm accident on the south coast.

About 12pm (Friday 4 November 2016), a 54-year-old woman was on a property on Oldam Close, Tomerong, south of Nowra, when she became pinned between a tractor and a shipping container on the property.

The woman’s husband contacted emergency services however she died at the scene.

Police from Shoalhaven Local Area Command are conducting inquiries into the incident.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Woman hurt in fail to stop crash – Penrith

Police are appealing for public assistance after a pedestrian was injured in a fail to stop crash in Penrith last night.

About 8.45pm (Friday 4 November 2016), an 18-year-old woman was crossing the northbound lanes of Richmond Road, Penrith, at the intersection with Boomerang Place, when she was struck by a vehicle.

The woman was using a marked pedestrian crossing the time she was struck.

The vehicle that hit the woman did not stop after the incident.

The woman was taken to Nepean Hospital for treatment to a laceration on her forehead and abrasions. The injuries are not life threatening.

Grievous bodily injury caused to officer in assault – Junee

A man has been charged after the assault of a police officer in Junee, which resulted in serious injuries.

About 7pm yesterday (Friday 4 November 2016), police were called to reports of a naked man running around and behaving irrationally in Hill Street, Junee.

Police attended and located an 18-year-old man in a paddock at the rear of a property.

As police attempted to speak to the man, he allegedly rushed at police, punching a female senior constable in the face before being subdued.

The officer suffered a fractured hard roof palate to her mouth. She was conveyed to Wagga Rural Referral Hospital and was later transported by road to Canberra Hospital for surgery.

Boy charged over bushfire – Cranebrook

A boy has been charged over a bushfire which damaged property in Sydney’s west yesterday.

Just before 2pm (Friday 4 October 2016), emergency services were called to Vincent Road, Cranebrook, following reports of a fire.

Emergency services attended and several residential properties, two schools and a nursing home in the nearby area were evacuated.

At least seven properties were significantly damaged by fire. Stock losses are yet to be calculated.

There were no reports of injuries.

Man charged with firearm and drug offences – Homebush

A man will appear in court today after being arrested and charged yesterday at Homebush with several firearms and drug offences.

Just before 7.30am on Friday 4 November 2016, officers attached to the Public Order and Riot Squad (PORS) observed a white Toyota Corolla parked in the breakdown lane of the M4 Motorway.

Officers spoke with the 43-year-old male occupant, a former OMCG member and he was subsequently searched.

Police will allege that during that search they located a loaded.32 calibre semi-automatic handgun secreted on the man and a quantity of methyl-amphetamine in his wallet.

After the man was arrested a further search of the vehicle by officers located two spent casings and a live .32 calibre round.

Two charged following robbery – Liverpool

Two people have been charged after a man was robbed in Liverpool yesterday.

About 8pm yesterday (Friday 4 November 2016), police have been told that a man attended a unit block on Charles Street, Liverpool for a pre –arranged meeting with a woman he met through an online dating application.

Police will allege that the woman lead the victim into the unit block, where he was confronted by a man armed with a crow bar.

The man allegedly threatened the victim, before stealing his wallet and phone.

The victim left the scene and contacted police. He was not injured during the incident.

Disqualified driver till 2057 charged, unsafe drivers continue to be caught – Operation Drink Drive 2, Day Two

A man disqualified from driving until 2057 will face court today after he was stopped in Sydney’s west on day two of Operation Drink Drive 2.

The high-visibility state-wide traffic operation which began at 12.01am on Thursday (3 November 2016), targeting dangerous driver behaviours including drink-driving, drug-driving, and speeding will continue through until midnight tonight (Saturday 5 November 2016).

About 2.25pm yesterday (Friday 4 November 2016), officers from Macquarie Fields Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting stationary random breath testing on Campbelltown Road, Denham Court, when they stopped a Nissan Maxima sedan.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, allegedly failed to produce a licence. Checks revealed he was disqualified from driving until May 2057.

Man dies after plane crashes near Walgett

New South Wales Police on Sunday, 06/11/2016 08:04 AEST

A report will be prepared for the Coroner following the death of a man in the state’s north, just near Walgett.

Just after 10am today (Saturday 5 November 2016), emergency services were called to a property on Cryon Road, Cryon, after reports a plane had crashed.

Upon arrival, officers attached to Castlereagh Local Area Command located a plane well alight, with Fire & Rescue NSW extinguishing the blaze.

A 46-year-old man, the single occupant of the plane, died at the scene.

Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) will commence an investigation in the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Armed Robbery – Bomaderry

Police are appealing to the public for assistance to locate a man following an armed robbery in Bomaderry today.

About 11am (Saturday 5 November 2016), police were called to a business on Meroo Road, Bomaderry.

Police have been told that a man entered the store and threatened staff with a knife.

The man took a sum of cash before fleeing the store and was last seen running down Meroo Road, in a westerly direction.

Officers attached to Shoalhaven Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Car crashes into building – St Ives

New South Wales Police on Sunday, 06/11/2016 08:03 AEST

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash in St Ives today.

About 1.30pm (Saturday 5 November 2016), emergency services were called to Sturt Place, St Ives, following reports a Mercedes Benz had crashed into a building.

Police have been told the 86-year-old driver attempted to open the garage door, when his vehicle started to roll and dragged him several metres.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious condition.

The passenger, a 86-year-old woman, was also treated at the scene before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital as a precaution.

Two boys arrested after bushfire – Shoal Bay

New South Wales Police on Sunday, 06/11/2016 08:03 AEST

Two boys will be dealt with under the Young Offenders Act after lighting a fire which spread uncontrollably near Port Stephens.

About 1pm today (Saturday 5 November 2016), a bushfire was observed in Lighthouse Reserve on Shoal Bay peninsular.

Two members of the public detained two 16-year-old boys who were seen moving away from the location of the fire.

Fire & Rescue NSW officers and Rural Fire Service personnel attended and extinguished the blaze, which burnt out about an acre of bushland.

Police from Port Stephens Local Area Command attended and arrested the two boys.

Children approached – Beverly Hills

New South Wales Police on Sunday, 06/11/2016 08:03 AEST

Two children have been approached by a man who committed an indecent act in Sydney’s south.

Between 1.30pm and 2pm today (Saturday 5 November 2016), a six-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl were at Edgebastion Reserve, Beverly Hills, when they were approached by a man.

The man allegedly touched the girl on the shoulder before exposing his genitalia and masturbating in front of the children.

A short time later the man left the park. He appeared to be in the company of two male children as he left.

He was last seen heading east on Edgebastion Road.

Man shot – Nambucca Heads

About 12.30am (Sunday 6 November 2016), police were called to Raleigh Street, Nambucca Heads, after reports of a shooting.

Officers from Mid North Coast Local Area Command attended and located a 21-year-old man outside a unit block with a single gunshot wound to his abdomen.

He was taken to Coffs Harbour Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene has been established which will be examined by forensic specialists.

The circumstances of the incident are still being investigated, however police are looking for two unknown offenders who reportedly fled the scene in a dark coloured vehicle.

Serious crash at Yalata

Drink driver at Elizabeth South

Police have reported a driver for a high range drink driving reading at Elizabeth South last night.

Police will allege at about 3.50am they conducted a traffic stop on Virgo Street with a Holden station wagon.

The male driver underwent a breath test which returned a positive result of 0.273.

The 20-year-old man from Elizabeth South was reported for driving under the influence and breaching his learner driver’s conditions.

His car was impounded and he lost his licence on the spot for 12 months.

He will be summonsed to attend court at a later date.

Unlawful use of a motor vehicle, Boondall and Ascot

Four men and a woman driving an alleged stolen vehicle were intercepted by police at Ascot overnight following the successful deployment of a tyre deflation device.

It will be alleged the vehicle failed to stop for police in the Boondall area around 12.53am and was then observed acting suspiciously in the Zillmere area.

Police will further allege when they attempted to intercept the vehicle again it failed to stop and was monitored from the air by Polair Brisbane, with information to the vehicle’s whereabouts relayed to police in Henry Street, Ascot.

A tyre deflation device was deployed on nearby Yabba Street at Ascot which successfully deflated the tyres of the stolen SUV.

Polair Brisbane tracked the five occupants who jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

All five were located nearby by police including the dog squad and taken into custody.

A 21-year-old Mitchelton woman has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, trespass and fail to take reasonable care of a syringe.

She is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 29.

Four men – two 18-year-old men, both from Bracken Ridge, and two 25-year-old men, one from Bald Hills and the other Mitchelton – have been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

All are expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, Monday November 7.

The vehicle – which had been stolen from Durack – sustained significant damage to the under carriage and tyres.

Investigations are continuing.

Police investigate CBD stabbing

It’s believed two men had an altercation outside a fast food restaurant on Swanston Street, near Flinders Street, about 12.35am.

During the incident a 19-year-old Sebastopol man sustained a cut on his face and was later transported to hospital.

A 29-year-old of no fixed place of address was arrested shortly after near the Yarra River.

He has been charged with intentionally cause serious injury and will face court today.

Police believe a large number of people present at the time of the incident may have filmed it on their phones and are appealing for those witnesses to come forward.

Armed robbery, Surfers Paradise

Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at Surfers Paradise last night.

It will be alleged three men entered the food outlet on Beach Road around 7.35pm where one of the men has threatened a male employee claiming he was armed with a knife and demanded money.

The 17-year-old employee has complied and handed over a sum of cash.

The men have subsequently fled the premises on foot towards Peninsula Drive.

The employee was uninjured.

Investigations are continuing.

Serious traffic crash, Robina

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious traffic crash last night at Robina.

Around 11.21pm, a utility that was travelling south along Scottsdale Drive struck a light pole on the median strip and then a tree.

The driver, an 18-year-old man, and a male passenger were treated at the scene by emergency services.

They were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 17-year-old woman, believed also to be a passenger, was extracted from the wreckage by emergency services and taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police investigate Narre Warren South collision

Police are investigating following a collision in Narre Warren South that left two people with life threatening injuries.

Emergency services were called to Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road, south of the intersection with Ormond Road, about 7.30pm.

It’s believed a Kia carrying six people collided with a Holden sedan and rolled.

Two male occupants from the Kia, which was bearing stolen number plates, have been air lifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The pair are yet to be identified.

Serious traffic crash, Cedar Pocket

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash at Cedar Pocket this afternoon.

Initial investigations indicate around 3.30pm a motorcycle travelling in a southerly direction along Gap Road has left the road and collided with a barbed wire fence.

The 51-year-old male rider from Lake Macdonald was air lifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Fatal traffic crash, Placid Hills

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash at Placid Hills this afternoon.

Initial investigations indicate around 3.55pm a vehicle travelling in an easterly direction along Old Toowoomba Road has left the road and collided with a tree.

The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old man from Gatton was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Missing girl, Mount Louisa (Townsville)

Police are seeking public assistance to help locate a 13-year-old girl reported missing from Mount Louisa yesterday.

She (pictured) was last seen around 7.45am outside a school on Fulham Road in Heatley.

Police hold concerns for her welfare due to her age and her behaviour is out of character.

She is described as Aboriginal in appearance, olive complexion, brown eyes, brown hair, proportionate build and approximately 160cm tall.

She was last seen wearing a green t-shirt, black shorts and carrying a bright pink back pack.

Taskforce Maxima arrests, Gold Coast

Detectives from Taskforce Maxima in collaboration with New South Wales (NSW) Police Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad have arrested a man for a NSW warrant.

It will be alleged police attended a holiday resort complex in Surfers Paradise around 7pm last night and located a 34-year-old Auburn, NSW man wanted on an arrest warrant issued in NSW.

Police will allege a 31-year-old man also from NSW was located in possession of a loaded .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol and a small amount of dangerous drugs.

Both men appeared at the Southport Magistrates Court today. The 31-year-old man has been charged with one count each of unlawful possession of weapon and possession of dangerous drug. NSW Detectives will seek extradition of the 34-year-old Auburn man in coming days.

The arrests are the continuation of actions in relation to the possession and supply of firearms in Queensland and NSW by organized crime syndicates.

Acting Detective Inspector Tim Leadbetter of Taskforce Maxima said the arrests showed the commitment of Taskforce Maxima and the Queensland Police Service to work with our partner law enforcement agencies in the continued fight against illegal firearms in our communities and organized crime.

Queenslanders” he said.

Wheelers Hill fatal crash

Police and emergency services are currently on the scene in Wheelers Hill where a car has crashed into a tree.

It is believed the silver hatchback struck a tree as it travelled inbound on Ferntree Gully Road about 2.50pm.

The male driver of the car has died at the scene.

A female passenger will be taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police will investigate to determine the cause of the crash.

LOCATED – Missing man, Everton Park

The missing man was located at 7.20pm in Enoggera. He is safe and well.

Police are seeking public assistance to help locate a man missing from Everton Park.

81-year-old Jan Yu was last seen leaving an address on Gordon Parade at Everton Park around 6am this morning but hasn’t been seen since.

Police hold concerns for his welfare as he suffers a medical condition, his behaviour is out of character and he doesn’t speak English.

He is described as being Asian in appearance, around 175cms tall and has short black hair.

He was last seen wearing a pair of black pants, a grey and yellow striped polo shirt and white shoes.

Anyone who may have seen this man is urged to contact police.

Police search for missing boy Damon Maugeri

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing boy Damon Maugeri.

The 13-year-old was last seen at outside a school on Fraser Street in Hoppers Crossing yesterday about 3pm.

Police and his family have concerns for his welfare due to his young age.

The below image of Damon has been released in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information on his current whereabouts.

He is described as being about 152cm tall, Caucasian with black hair which is usually worn in a bun with shaved sides.

Serious traffic crash, Yungaburra

Police are investigating a serious traffic crash that occurred this morning in Yungaburra.

Around 6.05am, a car that was travelling along Lake Barrine Road when it lost control and struck and embankment.

The driver of the car, a 24-year-old man, suffered a broken ankle and the passenger, also a 24-year-old man, suffered serious head injuries and was transported to hospital in Cairns.

Spalding Firearm Incident

Geraldton Detectives have charged a man following a firearm incident in Spalding last night, Friday 4 November 2016.

It is alleged that at approximately 10:30pm the man attended a house where the occupants are known to him and while out the front discharged a firearm a number of times. He then left the scene in a white Hyundai Accent with two other men.

Gosnells Wounding

At approximately 12:30am this morning, 5 November 2016, an altercation has occurred between two women at a hotel in Gosnells.

It is alleged that during the altercation one of the women was struck to the face with a glass bottle.

St Johns Ambulance conveyed a 25 year old woman from Gosnells to Armadale Hospital where she received a number of stitches to her face.

A 24 year old woman from Piara Waters was taken into custody by Gosnells Police and charged with Unlawful Wounding.

She is due to appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 22 November 2016.

Update: Fatal house fire, Churchable

Queensland Police Service on Saturday, 05/11/2016 09:42 AEST

Police are investigating a house fire at Churchable in the Lockyer Valley last night.

A 70-year-old man was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital but has passed away this morning.

Around 11.58pm emergency services were advised of a fire at the Main Green Swamp Road property where the man was an occupant.

A woman who was also inside the residence at the time wasn’t injured.

The house was destroyed in the fire.

Investigations are continuing to determine the cause of the fire.
