Seach for Zexuan ‘Andy’ Wei

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing 15-year-old boy Zexuan ‘Andy’ Wei.

Andy was last sighted at Elwood College on Wednesday 25 May.

Police have serious concerns for his welfare due to his age and the length of time that he has been missing.

Investigators have released an image of Andy in the hope that someone may recognise him.

Andy is described as Asian, approximately 160-170cm tall, medium build, fair complexion with dyed blonde, possibly green short hair.

Food distribution trucks targeted in compliance operation – T&HWP

New South Wales Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 17:00 AEST

Traffic & Highway Patrol Officers, together with Roads and Maritime Services inspectors, conducted an operation targeting a food distribution company today.

The company was allegedly involved in a recent fatal traffic collision at Brookvale, prompting police to conduct an audit of their Girraween business.

At 6am (Wednesday 1 June 2016), police attached to the Joint Traffic Task Force in company with RMS inspectors, attended three locations in Tamworth, Griffith and Newcastle to conduct an audit on heavy vehicles and trailers.

As a result, officers inspected 135 heavy vehicle units and issued 25 traffic infringement notices, found five non-compliant engine control modules, allowing speeds over the 100km/h limit, and issued 35 defect notices defective lights, tyres and brakes.

A man was arrested in Tamworth on an outstanding warrant and a vehicle was de-registered for a major defect.

Police investigate CBD stabbing

Victoria Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 16:46 AEST

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating after a man was stabbed in the CBD this morning.

Police have been told the victim was opening up a store on Collins Street about 8.40am.

It is believed the man left the room for a short period and when he returned found an unknown man inside the store, rummaging through a bag.

The victim, a 35-year-old man, attempted to apprehend the man and was stabbed in the upper body.

The Brighton man was transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Man charged over alleged assault – Wollongong

New South Wales Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 16:00 AEST

A man has been charged following an alleged assault in Wollongong last week.

About 11am on Friday 27 May 2016, a 46-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by two men outside a home in Corrimal Street.

The man was allegedly thrown to the ground and kicked in the head by the two men who left the scene following the assault.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for serious facial injuries and later transferred to the Prince of Wales Hospital at Randwick for specialised treatment and has since been released.

Officers from Wollongong Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations into the incident.

Man charged over Primrose Sands arson

Tasmania Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 15:53 AEST

Members of the Bellerive and Hobart Criminal Investigation Branch have today charged a 30 year old Primrose Sands man with Arson.

The man was charged with one count of Arson in relation to a deliberately lit house fire on Sunday 15 May 2016 at 769 Primrose Sands Road, Primrose Sands.

The man is due to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court later today.

Detective Inspector Steve Burk today thanked the Primrose Sands community for providing information resulting in today’s charges being laid.

“We also thank members of the Primrose Sands community for their patience in relation to our ongoing investigation into these fires. We understand that it’s a difficult time and we are determined to bring the person or people responsible to justice,” Detective Inspector Burk said.

Lone Wolf OMCG associate charged with alleged drug supply offence – Coffs Harbour

New South Wales Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 14:29 AEST

Police have charged a Lone Wolf OMCG associate with alleged illicit drug supply and firearms offences, after search warrants were executed in the Coffs Harbour area today.

From 7am to 8.20am (Wednesday 1 June 2016), police from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command, with assistance from the State Crime Command Gangs Squad Strike Force Raptor, Operational Support Group, and Police Rescue, executed three search warrants.

The search warrants targeted members and associates of the Lone Wolf OMCG, in relation to alleged drug supply and other offences in the area.

The three search warrants were executed at a home in Toormina; a clubhouse on Hulberts Road, Toormina; and a home in Boambee East.

It will be alleged clothing, cocaine, steroids, and glassware were seized during the warrants.

Man charged over alleged firearm manufacture – Strike Force Raptor

New South Wales Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 12:14 AEST

A man will face court today charged over the alleged manufacture of firearms in Sydney’s west.

About 8.30am yesterday (Tuesday 31 May 2016), police from the Gangs Squad’s Strike Force Raptor executed a search warrant at a home on Armitage Road, Glendenning.

During the search, officers located and seized a loaded .22 calibre non-commercially manufactured ‘pen gun’, a starter pistol converted to chamber .22 ammunition, a replica Colt .45ACP semi-automatic pistol, assorted ammunition, and a mobile phone.

In addition, police located paperwork and items believed to be associated with the manufacture of firearms.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the location and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station.

$100,000 reward announced into 1993 murder of Graham Bourke – Strike Force Dalgetty

New South Wales Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 11:14 AEST

The NSW Government has announced a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the unsolved murder of Graham Bourke more than 20 years ago.

On the evening of Monday 25 October 1993, Graham Kelvin Bourke, a 44-year-old butcher, attended a friend’s butchery at Mona Vale, where he socialised with friends.

Mr Bourke was last seen alive about 6.45pm, when he left the butchery for a pre-arranged meeting.

He was reported missing on Saturday 30 October 1993, when he failed to turn up to a planned visit with his ex-wife and 10-year-old daughter.

On Monday 29 November 1993, Mr Bourke’s body was located in the boot of his car, a red 1984 Holden Calais, which was parked on Sherbrook Road, Hornsby. He had been shot and his throat was cut.

Campbelltown LAC thank community for their support during ‘Dob in a Dealer’ campaign

New South Wales Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 09:14 AEST

Police from Campbelltown Local Area Command have thanked the community for their ongoing support during the recent ‘Dob in a Dealer’ campaign.

The Commonwealth-funded campaign is currently being conducted in States and Territories across Australia.

While members of the public are urged to report any prohibited-drug activity via Crime Stoppers; ‘Dob in a Dealer’ is targeting the manufacture, supply and use of ‘ice’ (crystal methylamphetamine) in the community.

‘Dob in a Dealer’ was promoted across Campbelltown Local Area Command between Tuesday 26 April 2016 and Sunday 7 May 2016.

Police and Crime Stoppers conducted intensive community-engagement activities at locations across the command, encouraging members of the public to report information about prohibited drugs.

Structure Fire at Battery World – Argyle Street, Hobart

Tasmania Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 08:30 AEST

At around 10.30pm Tuesday 31 May 2016 police and Tas Fire Service were made aware of a structure fire at a Hobart business (Battery World) on the corner of Warwick and Argyle Streets, Hobart.

Upon arrival there was a large amount of smoke coming from the building. The fire was quickly extinguished however there was substantial smoke damage caused inside the building and the roof was destroyed.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this stage and further investigations will be conducted by the fire scene examiner in consultation with forensic and CIB in the morning.

The value of the damage is estimated to be in excess of $200 000.

Home invasion – Londonderry

New South Wales Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 08:29 AEST

About 12.30am (Wednesday 1 June 2016), two men forced their way into a home on Reynolds Road. The men were armed with an axe and a baseball bat.

A 44-year-old male resident was assaulted, receiving minor facial injuries. Two other residents, a female in her early 20s and a man in his mid 40s were uninjured.

Police were contacted about the incident at 4am.

The 44-year-old man was treated on scene by Ambulance Paramedics. He is now speaking with detectives from Penrith Local Area Command.

A crime scene has been established and inquiries are continuing. Police believe the incident is targeted.

Truck fire – Freemans Waterhole

New South Wales Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 06:29 AEST

Just before 2am, emergency services were called to the M1 southbound at Freemans Waterhole after a semi-trailer carrying treated pine slabs hit failed to negotiate a left hand bend and rolled, before catching alight.

The 59-year-old male driver was able to escape with minor injuries to his chest and was conveyed to John Hunter Hospital.

Road closures were implemented and the southbound lanes are closed at the Palmers Road Interchange. The diversions are expected to be in place for sometime while the scene is cleared.

Witness appeal following sexual assault on Alamein train

Police are appealing for witnesses after a schoolboy fought-off a sexual assault during his journey to school last week.

Transit detectives are investigating the assault which occurred on a city-bound Alamein train about 8.15am on May 24.

A 17-year-old boy was standing in the second carriage near the rear exit doors when he was sexually assaulted by another man.

The victim has pushed the offender away and yelled at him.

The train was travelling between Hawthorn and Burnley stations at the time.

Man charged – drugs and weapons seized

Caulfield District Response Unit detectives arrested three people after a firearms warrant was executed in Edithvale this afternoon.

Police executed the warrant at a residential address in Keith Avenue around 2.50pm today.

It is alleged that police found firearms, explosives and cannabis during the search.

A 26-year-old South Yarra man was interviewed and released pending further enquires.

A 50-year-old Edithvale woman was charged with possess and use cannabis.

Police investigate attempted armed robbery – Birrong

Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery in Sydney’s south west yesterday.

About 4.30pm (Tuesday 31 May 2016), a man entered a pharmacy on Auburn Road, Birrong and threatened staff with a sharp wooden implement.

He assaulted the female attendant, before a male customer intervened and attempted to disarm the man.

Three other staff members also attempted to disarm the man by hitting him with walking sticks.

The man punched the customer and then ran from the store.

Man charged after shots allegedly fired at home – Drake, near Casino

New South Wales Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 03:29 AEST

A man has been charged after a firearm was allegedly discharged at a home in the state’s north yesterday.

About 9am (Tuesday 31 May 2016), police will allege four shots were fired at a home on a rural property on Bruxner Road at Drake, about 77km west of Casino.

Four people were inside the home at the time and were uninjured.

About 10am, officers from Richmond Local Area Command and the Northern Region Dog Unit attended and established a crime scene, which was forensically examined.

Following inquiries, officers attended a nearby home about 30 minutes later and arrested a 45-year-old man.

Three charged after alleged stabbing – Ermington

New South Wales Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 03:29 AEST

Police investigating an alleged stabbing at Ermington last weekend have charged three people over the incident.

About 11pm on Saturday 28 May 2016, emergency services were called to Betty Cuthbert Avenue, following reports a man was stabbed.

Police were told a group allegedly armed with baseball bats and knives attended the location and confronted another group at the scene.

An altercation occurred and the 19-year-old man was allegedly stabbed in the leg.

The man was taken to Westmead Hospital with non life-threatening injuries and was later released.

Armed robbery – Berkley Vale

New South Wales Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 02:00 AEST

About 6.30pm (Tuesday 31 May 2016), a man with his face and hands covered entered the store on Lakedge Avenue, Berkeley Vale and confronted an attendant, a 39-year-old man.

The man, who was armed with a knife, demanded money from the till before the attendant complied.

He was last seen entering a white hatchback on Lakedge Avenue and driving off.

Police were alerted and officers from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

An investigation is underway and investigators would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

Man arrested following domestic-related stabbing – Auburn

New South Wales Police on Wednesday, 01/06/2016 01:44 AEST

A man has been arrested following an alleged domestic-related stabbing at Auburn yesterday.

Just before 2pm (Tuesday 31 May 2016), two men – aged 50 and 21 – allegedly became involved in an altercation outside a home in Auburn.

During the altercation, the 50-year-old man suffered a 10cm stab wound to his cheek from a knife.

Both men entered the home and a short time later the 21-year-old allegedly assaulted the older man with the knife again, causing a small laceration to the head.

The 21-year-old man left the premises before returning a short time later.

Two alleged hydroponic cannabis houses found; woman charged – Canley Heights

Police have charged a woman following the execution of two search warrants and seizure of 72 cannabis plants in south west Sydney.

On Tuesday 17 May 2016, officers from Cabramatta Local Area Command attended a home on Salisbury Street, Canley Heights, and executed a search warrant.

Police allegedly located a hydroponic system containing 39 cannabis plants inside the home.

On Friday 27 May 2016, the officers attended a home on Coolibar Street, Canley Heights and executed a search warrant.

Thirty three cannabis plants were allegedly found in another hydroponic system inside the home.

Police appeal after jewellery found in car – Orange

New South Wales Police on Tuesday, 31/05/2016 23:29 AEST

Police are appealing for information after jewellery was found in a car following a pursuit in Orange earlier this month.

About 7.20pm on Thursday 12 May 2016, officers attached to Canobolas Local Area Command’s Target Action Group were patrolling Orange when they sighted a black Holden Commodore travelling west on Margaret Street.

Checks on the car allegedly revealed that the registration plate did not match the car.

Officers attempted to stop the Commodore; however, the driver allegedly failed to stop and a pursuit was commenced.

Police lost sight of the Commodore for a short time before finding it on Anson Street.

Three car crash – Richmond

New South Wales Police on Tuesday, 31/05/2016 23:14 AEST

Just before 5pm (Tuesday 31 May 2016), emergency services were called to reports of a crash on Londonderry Road, near Cameron Street.

On arrival, officers found a crash involving three cars travelling south on Londonderry Road.

Initial investigations suggest a Toyota Tarago crashed into the rear of a Holden Commodore and a Toyota Corolla.

A 32-year-old woman driving the Tarago and six children in the car, were assessed at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics.

Three children were taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead with minor injuries, while the woman was taken to Nepean Hospital with back injuries and mandatory blood and alcohol testing.

Search for Chloe Hyde

Victoria Police on Tuesday, 31/05/2016 22:12 AEST

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing 15-year-old Chloe Hyde.

Chloe has been missing from her Frankston residence since May 8 and police have concerns for her due to the length of time she has been missing and her age.

Investigators have released an image of Chloe in the hope that someone may recognise her.

Chloe is described as Caucasian, medium build, fair complexion with shoulder length brown hair.

Anyone who sees Chloe is urged to contact Frankston Police Station on 9784 5555.
