Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing 15-year-old Wallan girl, Olivia Missio.
Investigators have been told Olivia was last seen leaving her Dudley Street home on 8 January at about 10am.
Police are concerned for Olivia’s welfare due to her young age and have released the below image of her.
She is described as approximately 160cm tall with long light-brown hair and a medium build.
Olivia was last seen wearing a black jumper with love hearts on it, black leggings and carrying a pink and white back-pack.

Police investigate fatal crash north of Wollongong

Police are investigating a fatal crash in Coalcliff, north of Wollongong, this afternoon.
About 3.30pm (Saturday 9 January 2016), emergency services were called to the intersection of Lawrence Hargrave Drive and Paterson Road, following reports of a crash.
Police have been told a motorcycle was travelling north along Lawrence Hargrave Drive.
At the intersection of Patterson Road, the motorcycle and a vehicle travelling south along the same road collided head-on.
The motorcycle continued, when it collided with another vehicle travelling in a northerly direction.

Unsworn member caught drink driving in Glen Waverley

An unsworn member has been caught drinking driving in Glen Waverley last night.
The employee was intercepted in View Mount Road about 10.45pm.
The man returned a positive breath test at the scene.
A subsequent evidentiary breath test furnished a reading of 0.122 per cent.
Polices will serve him with a notice to surrender his car within the next 10 days for impound and he is expected to be charged on summons with exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol.

Summernats scam
ACT Police on Saturday, 09/01/2016 16:38 AEST
ACT Policing is warning people attending Summernats Car Festival not to purchase stolen wristbands to gain entry.
A high volume of Summernats ‘all areas’ wristbands were stolen six months ago prompting organisers to change the design and colour of this year’s entry bands.
A full price season pass to the festival is $145, but thieves are attempting to sell the stolen wristbands for $20 each in the car parks around Exhibition Park.
Several punters have been scammed today and refused entry by tight security at the gates.
Organisers have advised that people who purchase the stolen wristbands won’t be gaining entry.

Man charged following alleged break and enter, pursuit – Mount Pritchard

A man will appear in court tomorrow following an alleged pursuit after a break and enter at a home in Mount Pritchard this morning.
About 7.10am (Saturday 9 January 2016), officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command stopped a car on the northbound off-ramp of the M1, Berowra, after the driver was allegedly reversing down the ramp.
Police spoke to the driver, and further checks revealed the vehicle had been allegedly stolen from a home on Meadows Road, Mount Pritchard, the same morning.
The man allegedly resisted arrest, before driving from the scene. A pursuit ensued southbound on the M1, then south along the Pacific Highway, Wahroonga.
Officers attached to Kuring Gai Local Area Command and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command lost sight of vehicle, before locating it after the man allegedly crashed into the front yard of a home on Lucinda Avenue, Wahroonga.

Missing man Marek Malujlo found

Missing man Marek Malujlo has been located safe and well. Police thank the public for their assistance and concern.
Police know the importance of locating someone as quickly as possible in order to minimise the trauma and anxiety for loved ones, and as such we encourage friends or relatives to contact police as soon as they become concerned about someone who is missing (you do NOT have to wait 24 hours before reporting someone missing).
Man charged after child pornography seized – Deniliquin

A man will face court later this month after allegedly being found in possession of child pornography.
In November 2015, police launched an investigation after a mobile phone was handed in at Green Valley Police Station, which contained a number of child pornographic images.
Following inquiries by police from Green Valley and Deniliquin Local Area Commands, a 22-year-old man was arrested in Deniliquin about 10am yesterday (Friday 8 January 2016).
During a search of the man’s home on Hay Road, Deniliquin, police seized two mobile phones and a laptop, which also allegedly contained child pornographic images.
The man was charged with three counts of produce, disseminate or possess child abuse material.

Update: Search and rescue, Noosa

Police have released the name and photo of a 37-year-old man believed to be missing at a Noosa Beach.
A search involving multiple agencies has been underway since 12:30am this morning after a man believed to be Ricky Gardner was seen entering the water and swimming away from the shore of Main Beach on Hastings Street.
It is unknown whether the man made it back to shore or exited the water safely.
Mr Gardner is described as Caucasian, approximately 178cm tall, slim build and has light complexion. It is unknown what he was wearing at the time of going missing.
Mr Gardner is believed to be itinerant with no fixed of abode and is believed to be residing in a van and frequenting the Noosa area.
Police are urging Mr Gardner or anyone who may have contact with him to contact police to verify that he is safe.
Police investigate man’s death – Queenscliff

A report will be prepared for the Coroner after a man died when his car drove off a cliff on the Northern Beaches overnight.
About 1.40am (Saturday 9 January 2016), police and emergency services were called to the end of Queenscliff Road, Queenscliff, following reports something had gone off the cliff.
Witnesses told police they heard a loud bang and have gone outside to find the fence at the edge of the cliff broken, and what appeared to be a light in the water.
Officers from Northern Beaches Local Area Command and specialist officers conducted extensive inquiries.
About 11.30am today (Saturday 9 January 2016), police divers located a vehicle in the water and the body of a man.

Police investigate man’s death near Lake Macquarie

Police are investigating after a man died near Lake Macquarie.
About 9.30am (Saturday 9 January 2016), police and Ambulance Paramedics were called to a beach at Catherine Hill Bay after reports that a man had fallen into the water.
The man was brought to shore by lifesavers but he was unable to be revived and died at the scene.
No information on his identity is available at this stage.
Initial investigations suggest the man was rock fishing at the time.

Information appeal following Newborough hit-and-run

Moe officers are appealing for information following a hit-and-run collision in Newborough this morning.
Investigators have been told that a yellow Holden sedan crashed into the rear of a white Holden Commodore as the driver was waiting to turn right into Narracan Drive from John Field Drive around 8.55am.
The driver of the yellow Holden put the car in reverse and travelled down the wrong side of the road and away from the crash before fleeing and heading west along the Princes Freeway.
The victim suffered minor injuries and reported the matter to police.
Investigators have released an image of a car that is believed to have been involved in the incident.

Grievous bodily harm, Mount Isa

A 28-year-old man Parkside man has been charged after a female staff member sustained critical injuries at a Mount Isa licensed premises earlier this morning.
At 12am, a 36-year-old Happy Valley woman was standing at the main entrance to the Grace Street venue when she was approached by a man who had been refused entry.
The employee was speaking with another woman when she was allegedly assaulted by the man causing her to fall the ground, hitting her head.
The woman was transported to Mount Isa Hospital with critical head injuries.
She will be transferred to Townsville Base Hospital this morning.
A 28-year-old Parkside man is scheduled to appear in Mount Isa Magistrates Court on January 11 charged with grievous bodily harm.
Search and rescue, Noosa

A search involving multiple agencies is currently underway for a missing man at a Noosa Beach.
At around 12.30am the man was seen entering the water and swimming away from the shore of Main Beach.
It is unknown whether the man made it back to shore or exited the water safely.
The search involving police, water police and other agencies will continue today.
Anyone who may have seen the man enter the water or who has any information that may assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Missing man Marek Malujlo

Police are seeking the assistance of the public to help locate missing man, Marek Malujlo.
Marek Malujlo, 55, was last seen leaving his Wynn Vale address about 11am Friday 8 January to go mountain bike riding. Mr Malujlo has not returned, Police and his family have concerns for his welfare.
Marek Malujlo is Caucasian, 175cm tall, with a medium build, short grey hair and blue eyes.
Marek Malujlo left his home driving a white Hyundai Tuscon station wagon, SA registration S998ADB. He may be in the Hills area.
Anyone who spots Marek Malujlo, his car or his bike or has information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the police assistance line immediately on 131 444.
Armed robbery, Caboolture

A 23-year-old man has been charged following investigations into the alleged armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver in Caboolture last night.
At 10.20pm, a 30-year-old Caboolture man arrived at a Rogers Crescent address where he was allegedly threatened by a man armed with a knife and hammer on the driveway.
A man allegedly stole a sum of cash, three pizzas, a chocolate cake and a bottle of soft drink before leaving the scene on foot.
No-one was physically injured.
A 23-year-old Caboolture man is scheduled to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court today charged with armed robbery and possessing utensils or pipes.
Water police search for mystery caller

Police are investigating after a call was made to Triple Zero from a man stating his boat had hit rocks off Frankston foreshore about 1.30am this morning.
The caller told police his boat was taking on water and he was on the Mornington side of Frankston Pier, near Mount Eliza.
The man did not leave his contact details and is yet to be identified.
Water Police along with local members conducted extensive enquiries and searched on water, land and air, but the man and boat have yet to be located.
Police are appealing to anyone with information that may identify potential missing persons or overdue vessels who were boating in that area last night to call Triple Zero (000).

Man arrested for stolen motor vehicle

ACT Policing arrested a 34-year-old Wanniassa man yesterday morning (Friday, 8 January) in relation to incidents of burglary, theft and a stolen motor vehicle.
About 6am, ACT Policing members attended a hotel on Goyder Street, Narrabundah, after investigations led police to believe a suspect in several current investigations was at that location.
Police located the man within the hotel and found a set of car keys in his possession that started a stolen motor vehicle which was located in the hotel car park. That vehicle was stolen on Monday 4 January from a premises in Hume, ACT.
ACT Policing arrested the 34-year-old man and conveyed him to the ACT Watch House. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning for charges relating to burglary, theft and a stolen motor vehicle. Bail will be opposed.

Serious assault of public officer charge, Kedron

A 22-year-old man has been charged following the alleged assault of an ambulance officer during the man’s transportation to hospital last night.
It will be alleged that around 10.30pm the man has become aggressive in the rear of the ambulance as it was travelling through the Airport Link tunnel causing the officers to stop the vehicle.
It is then alleged as one of the officers has approached the passenger side door of the ambulance the man has opened the door alighted from the vehicle and has struck the officer with a closed fist.
Police have attended the scene shortly afterwards and restrained the man who allegedly continued to behave aggressively.
The man was transported to the Brisbane watch house and was later charged with one count of serious assault of a public officer and one count of assault or obstruct police.
He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
Four teens injured following crash – Waterfall

Four teens have been injured – one seriously – following a single-vehicle crash in the Sutherland Shire last night.
About 10.30pm (Friday 8 January 2016), police and emergency services were called to McKell Avenue, Waterfall, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.
Initial inquiries indicate the driver failed to negotiate a bend causing the white Toyota Supra to leave the road and crash more than five metres down a gully.
The 17-year-old male driver suffered spinal injuries and was taken by Westpac Lifesaver helicopter to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.
Three passengers, two girls – aged 15 and 16 – and another 17-year-old boy, were treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics for minor injuries and taken to St George Hospital as a precaution. They have since been released.

Man charged with murder following alleged stabbing – Wollongong

A man is due to face court today following the death of another man in the Illawarra overnight.
About 7.20pm yesterday (Friday 8 January 2016), emergency services were called to a home unit on Cliff Road, Wollongong, following reports of a stabbing.
Police from Wollongong Local Area Command attended and located a 58-year-old man unconscious, with a stab wound to his back.
Officers performed CPR until the arrival of NSW Ambulance Paramedics, who took the man to Wollongong Hospital, where he later died.
A 51-year-old man was arrested a short time later at a home unit on Corrimal Street, Wollongong.

Police investigate suspicious damage to fence at cliff’s edge – Queenscliff

A search will resume at first light after a fence at the edge of a cliff on the Northern Beaches was broken overnight.
About 1.40am (Saturday 9 January 2016), police and emergency services were called to the end of Queenscliff Road, Queenscliff, following reports something had gone off the cliff.
Witnesses told police they heard a loud bang and have gone outside to find the fence at the edge of the cliff broken, and what appeared to be a light in the water.
Officers from Northern Beaches Local Area Command and Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit conducted extensive searches on the ground, with the assistance of Marine Area Command on the water and PolAir from the air.
The search has been suspended due to poor light and dangerous conditions. Nothing has been located.

Police investigate stabbing in Dandenong

Police are investigating after a man aged in his 40s was located with serious injuries this morning.
The man was found on Potter Street about 2am with serious stab wounds to his back.
The man, who is of no fixed address, initially refused medical treatment but was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.
Police are hoping to speak to anyone who may have any information regarding the incident which may have taken place in Dandenong CBD between 11.30pm and 2am.

Search for missing swimmer – Hawks Nest

Police will resume their search this morning for a swimmer who went missing in water at Hawks Nest yesterday.
About 4pm (Friday 8 January 2015), police and emergency services were called to Bennett’s Beach, following reports of swimmers struggling in the water.
On arrival, police from Port Stephens Local Area Command were told four men were swimming at the beach, when two became caught in a rip.
One of the men was able to swim to safety, while the other man – aged 20 – was submerged under water.
Bennett’s Beach lifeguards attempted to locate the man; however, he was not found.

Sheep die in shed fire – Temora

A number of sheep have died and a shed has been destroyed following a fire in the state’s south.
About 12.30pm (Friday 8 January 2016), a 67-year-old farmer was conducting maintenance in a feeding shed on his property at Trungley Hall, near Temora, when a hay bale caught fire.
The fire quickly spread through the hay in the shed and despite efforts to extinguish the fire, the shed became engulfed in flames.
The farmer attempted to rescue the 1800 sheep which were in the shed, however, only a small number were able to be saved.
Rural Fire Service attended the scene and contained the fire, but the shed was destroyed.

Man charged following arrest at Braybrook

Moonee Ponds Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after police followed his car from Wangaratta to Braybrook this afternoon.
It is alleged a Holden Commodore, which matched the description of a vehicle police were looking for as part of an ongoing investigation, fled from police at Wangaratta earlier today.
The car allegedly sped off on the Hume Freeway and the vehicle was monitored from a distance by the police Air Wing as it continued to travel to Melbourne.
The vehicle was involved in a collision at the intersection of Duke Street and Ballarat Road in Braybrook about 2.30pm before the occupants fled on foot.
A 22-year-old man and 22-year-old woman, both from Wangaratta, were arrested in a Ballarat Road hotel car park a short time later.

Bike rider killed in Murrumbucca, Southern Region

A 44-year-old man has died in southern NSW after a head-on collision involving a motorbike and four wheel drive about 8.45am today (Friday 8 January 2016).
The crash occurred on Billilingra Road, Murrumbucca, north of Cooma.
The rider of the motorcycle was rendered first aid however died at the scene.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
