Three NSW Police Officers Injured In a Brawl

Three police officers were punched, headbutted and kicked after being called to a mass brawl between up to 100 youths at a McDonald’s car park on the Central Coast.

Two 17-year-old males have been charged with assault and one policeman was taken to Wyong Hospital with leg injuries after in incident the McDonald’s car park on Tuesday evening.

Police were called to the car park on Goobarabah Ave just after 11.30pm to reports of a mob of between 50 and 100 young men and women fighting and smashing bottles.

“Numerous police cars attended the scene, arresting some people for assault and moving others on,” Tuggerah Lakes Inspector Jennifer Lawton said.

During the brawl, three officers were assaulted with one taken to Wyong Hospital for treatment.

“Several officers were punched, headbutted and kneed as officers attempted to move people on,” Inspector Lawton said.

Two 17-year-old males, one from Gorokan and the other from San Remo, were arrested and taken to Wyong Police Station where they were charged with assault police, resist police, refusing to comply with lawful direction and escape lawful custody.
