Concerns held for woman’s welfare – Cranebrook [Saturday, 28/11/2015 02:43 AEST]

The witness has told police a man then grabbed the woman and dragged her off the road.

Officers from Penrith Local Area Command attended and conducted a search of the area; however, they were unable to locate the woman or the vehicle.

It’s unknown at this stage whether the incident is suspicious.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for public assistance to identify the woman and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police appeal after more than 50 graves damaged – Rookwood [Saturday, 28/11/2015 00:36 AEST]

Officers from Flemington Local Area Command attended and located a number of items, including flowers and lights, which had been damaged.

Two men were subsequently stopped and spoken to as they were leaving the cemetery.

Officers searched their vehicle and seized packets of substances believed to be illicit drugs, which have been sent for analysis.

The men, aged 23 and 25, were taken to Auburn Police Station; however, have since been released pending further inquiries.

Man charged with sexual assault and firearm offences – Chatswood [Friday, 27/11/2015 20:02 AEST]

It will be alleged that while at the woman’s house, the man – aged 41 – ‘spiked’ the woman’s soft drink and sexually assaulted her.

A report was made to police from North Shore Local Area Command who commenced inquiries into the incident.

As a result of their investigations, just after 7am today (Friday 27 November 2015), police arrested the 41-year-old man at Artarmon.

A search warrant was executed at the man’s Chatswood home, where police seized a .22 calibre pistol from a bedside drawer.

Police investigate bank robbery – Scone [Friday, 27/11/2015 15:59 AEST]

He was handed an amount of cash before fleeing the scene. None of the attendants were injured.

He got into a blue vehicle, which was last seen heading west on Kingdon Road.

The man is described as being of a large build, wearing a blue hooded jumper with grey long pants, white joggers, black and grey-coloured camouflage pattern hooded jacket.

He was carrying a green bag and was armed with what is believed to be a shotgun.

Man charged with attempted murder following stabbing – Nowra [Friday, 27/11/2015 15:26 AEST]

The older man was stabbed twice to the neck, and when he tried to run away; he was allegedly slashed to the back of the neck.

The younger man fled the scene and emergency services were called.

The injured man was taken to Shoalhaven District Hospital, before being airlifted to St George Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police from Shoalhaven Local Area Command arrested the younger man in Nowra’s CBD about 9am.

Police investigate crash – Bulli Tops [Friday, 27/11/2015 15:05 AEST]

Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles before being released.

The 22-year-old man driving the Rodeo has been air-lifted to Liverpool Hospital with serious head injuries.

The 25-year-old man driving the Commodore was air-lifted to St George Hospital with serious lower limb injuries.

Both drivers are in a critical but stable condition.

Child approach – Tuggerah [Friday, 27/11/2015 14:20 AEST]

The man offered him a lift, however the boy refused. He left go of his arm and the vehicle pulled back onto the line of traffic and drove east on Wyong Road, towards the Chittaway Bay area.

The boy returned home and reported the incident to his mother, who contacted police.

The man has been described as Caucasian appearance, 50-60 years old, with a large nose and chubby build. He had short grey hair, and was wearing a grey short sleeved t-shirt with a black logo, and dark blue underpants or football shorts.

The vehicle has only been described as a silver coloured sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry, with a NSW partial registration of CYS.

Police investigate car fire – near Tamworth [Friday, 27/11/2015 14:05 AEST]

The man pulled his car to the side of the road and contacted his parents to pick him up, before falling asleep in the car.

Police have been told that the man woke up to a loud bang and found his vehicle on fire. The driver was able to get out of the car, and saw a car described as a brown or maroon-coloured Holden Commodore with yellow and black NSW plates driving from the scene.

The man was later taken by his father to Tamworth Hospital where he is being treated for burns to his arms, chest, and face. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police from Oxley local Area Command are investigating the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Man charged for weapon possession and drug supply – Strike Force Amarina [Friday, 27/11/2015 13:24 AEST]

Shortly before 6pm yesterday (Thursday 26 November 2015), detectives arrested a 28-year-old man on Rickard Road at Bankstown.

Police subsequently executed a search warrant at a home on Caldwell Parade, Yagoona, where they located and seized:

– A 45 Calibre Colt magazine containing seven rounds;

– 16 vials of testosterone;

Teacher charged with 13 counts of indecent assault – Southern Highlands [Friday, 27/11/2015 09:19 AEST]

Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad made inquiries into the matter and on Wednesday (25 November 2015) they arrested a 57-year-old man at Bowral Police Station.

The man was subsequently charged with 13 counts of aggravated indecent assault, before being granted conditional bail to appear before Moss Vale Local Court on 5 January 2016.

In court, police will allege the teacher indecently assaulted seven different girls, all of whom are students at the primary school the man most recently taught at.

The offences are alleged to have occurred throughout 2014 and 2015.

Police urge festival-goers to utilise public transport and stay safe ahead of Stereosonic [Friday, 27/11/2015 07:08 AEST]

A number of other major events are taking place over the weekend, with organisers expecting more than 150,000 people in the precinct.

A high-visibility police operation will be in place for the festival, involving police from South West Metropolitan Region, the Dog Unit, including drug-detection dogs; Public Order and Riot Squad, and Mounted Unit.

In addition, a number of officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command and Police Transport Command will be deployed to ensure the safety of festival-goers as well as thousands of additional spectators attending the precinct for other events.

South West Metropolitan Region Commander, Assistant Commissioner Frank Mennilli, said police will be targeting illegal drug use and supply, alcohol-related crime and anti-social behaviour.

Five charged over aggravated break in – Leeton [Friday, 27/11/2015 00:11 AEST]

They forced their way into the home by kicking down the back door. One of the males was allegedly armed with a metal bar.

Once inside the home they allegedly assaulted the occupants, a 33-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man, before fleeing the scene on foot.

Police and Ambulance Paramedics attended and the two occupants were taken to Leeton District Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

Police from Griffith Local Area Command attended a home on Wirilda Street, Leeton, earlier today and arrested a 21-year-old woman, a 19-year-old man and a 15-year-old male without incident.

About 6.45pm the child was located at Blacktown Railway Station.

Missing girl sought – Doonside [Thursday, 26/11/2015 20:37 AEST]

Miath Jibba is described as being of African appearance with a solid build.

When last seen she was wearing pink floral tights and a t-shirt.

Miath has a medical condition and may not be able to converse with members of the public.

Anyone with information about the girl is urged to contact Blacktown Police Station on 9671 9199.

Former Scout leader charged over alleged historical child abuse – Strike Force Konda [Thursday, 26/11/2015 20:01 AEST]

The man told police about a number of acts of indecency which allegedly commenced when he was a member of a Scout group in Sydney’s south west in 1975.

The acts of indecency allegedly continued until 1982.

Following further investigations, several other men also came forward with allegations of alleged sexual abuse which occurred between 1972 and 1976, who were also members of the same Scout group.

The investigation culminated this morning (Thursday 26 November 2015) with the arrest of a 67-year-old man at an address in south western Sydney.

Driver killed in fatal bus crash – Robertson [Thursday, 26/11/2015 19:43 AEST]

Investigators believe that the bus which was travelling in a westerly direction along the Illawarra Highway was about 400 metres east of Sheepwash Road when a large tree fell onto the windscreen.

As a result of the tree hitting the bus the vehicle left the carriageway and travelled for 150 metres before coming to a halt.

The 61-year-old male bus driver was treated at the scene by a nurse who was travelling past the crash scene.

Ambulance Paramedics attempted to revive the man without success.

Sydney CBD Emergency Warning System to be tested tomorrow [Thursday, 26/11/2015 19:27 AEST]

Those who reside, work or travel through the Sydney CBD need to be aware of the warning system, what it sounds like and what it is used for.

The system is in line with similar warning systems overseas where monthly tests are conducted to educate and remind the public of the existence of the warning system, and to ensure the system works.

Tomorrow’s test will be conducted at selected sites within the Sydney CBD.

There are 98 speakers located throughout the CBD, as well as 13 variable messaging signs which are positioned at transport hubs in the city, all of which play a major role in the Sydney CBD Emergency Plan.

Man charged following pursuit – Granville [Thursday, 26/11/2015 18:56 AEST]

Police activated warning lights and the driver allegedly left the scene.

A pursuit commenced and police followed the car for a short time into a cul-de-sac.

The driver and his passenger ran from the car and were arrested a short distance away.

The driver, a 24-year-old man, was also wanted in relation to an alleged pursuit on 3 November 2015 at Bankstown.

Police officer charged – Specialist Command [Thursday, 26/11/2015 18:18 AEST]

The 39-year-old was issued the notice on Tuesday 24 November 2015.

He will appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court on 6 January 2016.

Police urge football fans to celebrate safely – Central Coast Stadium [Thursday, 26/11/2015 17:57 AEST]

Gates open at 1.45pm and fans are urged to arrive early to make sure they are inside the stadium and seated before kickoff at 5pm.

Police from Brisbane Water Local Area Command will be assisted by specialist units and stadium security to ensure the comfort, safety and security of officials, players and spectators.

Brisbane Water Local Area Commander, Superintendent Danny Sullivan, urged fans to enjoy the match safely.

“An A-League match is a fun family-friendly event and we want it to be safe for everyone, especially the kids,” Supt Sullivan said.

Fatal bus crash – Burrawang [Thursday, 26/11/2015 17:41 AEST]

Ambulance Paramedics treated the three passengers in the bus for cuts and shock at the scene. They did not require further treatment.

No one else was on the bus, and police have received no other reports of injury.

Forensic services officers are at the scene and police will prepare a report for the Coroner.

Three injured in neighbour dispute – Peakhurst [Thursday, 26/11/2015 08:52 AEST]

They arrived to find four people injured after bottles and pot plants were thrown.

Two males, aged 16 and 22, and a 50-year-old woman suffered cuts and bruises and have been taken to St George Hospital for treatment. The woman has been admitted for further treatment, the others were treated and released. None of the injuries have been described as life threatening.

A fourth person, a 37-year-old woman, was treated at the scene.

Police have been speaking with a number of people allegedly involved, as well as witnesses.

Police release CCTV following serious assault – Parramatta [Thursday, 26/11/2015 06:50 AEST]

Police attended and spoke with people at a number of nearby properties; but did not find anyone injured.

About 8.20am, officers were called to a nearby location, after a man was found unconscious in the front yard of a property.

The injured man, 29-year-old Vineshwar Pal, was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

He remains in hospital and has not regained consciousness.

Hydroponic cannabis set-up found after neighbour dispute – Bexley [Thursday, 26/11/2015 06:37 AEST]

Following inquiries, a search warrant was applied for and executed at a house at the location.

On commencing the search for the knife, officers allegedly located an alleged hydroponic cannabis set-up at the rear of the property.

A crime scene was declared and 95 cannabis plants and approximately 3 kilograms of dried buds were seized by police. The buds and plants have an estimated potential street value of $295,000.

As a result of the search, a 36-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman were arrested and taken to Kogarah Police Station.

14 people test positive to drugs during roadside operation – Lake Illawarra [Thursday, 26/11/2015 05:30 AEST]

During the operation police conducted a total of 63 random breath and drug tests.

14 drivers tested returned a positive secondary drug test and were issued 24 hour driving prohibition notices.

Further action may be undertaken against these drivers following analysis results.

24 traffic infringement notices were also issued for traffic related offences.

Investigations underway following heavy vehicle crash – Mascot [Thursday, 26/11/2015 05:19 AEST]

Police were told as the trucks approached the merge with Southern Cross Drive, a small silver hatchback drove towards them on the wrong side of the road.

The lead truck has braked and taken evasive action to avoid the hatchback. The second truck travelling behind has then collided into the rear of the lead truck.

The hatchback did not stop after the collision and was last seen driving away with its lights off.

The driver of the second truck – a 53-year-old man – was trapped in his cabin before being released by officers from Police Rescue and Fire and Rescue NSW.

Man’s body located in water – Hawkesbury [Thursday, 26/11/2015 02:03 AEST]

Police were told that a man was seen to enter the river but subsequently got into difficulties and disappeared from view.

Officers from Hawkesbury Local Area Command established a command post at the location with local police, State Emergency Service volunteers, PolAir and police divers searching the river and surrounds for the man.

About 11.10pm, police divers located the body of a 33-year-old man in the river south of the Windsor Bridge.

The man’s family has been notified and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Police search for missing man – Hawkesbury [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 22:43 AEST]

Police from Hawkesbury Local Area Command were told that a man was seen to enter the river but subsequently got into difficulties and disappeared from view.

Local Police, State Emergency Service volunteers and PolAir searched the river but have been unable to locate the man.

Police established a command post at the location and continue with their search of the area.

Witnesses have told officers the man, described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged 33 years and balding, was wearing shorts and no shirt.

Police investigate fatal crash – Woodburn [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 20:00 AEST]

Officers from Richmond Local Area Command attended the location and found a semi-trailer and a sedan had crashed head-on.

The driver of the sedan died at the scene. The driver, who is believed to be the only occupant of the car, is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the semi-trailer was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to Lismore Base Hospital, where he will undergo mandatory blood and urine tests.

A crime scene has been established and will be examined by specialist officers.

Police investigate child approach – Woy Woy [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 19:43 AEST]

The girls ignored the men and continued on their journey.

The incident was reported to Brisbane Water Police this morning (Wednesday 25 November 2015), and officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Investigators would like to speak to three men described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in their 20s and with light-coloured hair. The men may be travelling in a small, white car with the letter ‘C’ in the registration plate.

Two men allegedly attempt to conceal drugs at Sydney Olympic Park [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 19:39 AEST]

When confronted by security, the man fled the area in a vehicle.

Following inquiries, investigating officers attended an address on Green Valley Road, Green Valley, where they seized 10 MDMA pills.

A 21-year-old man was spoken to and later issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice for the offences of malicious damage, trespass and a drug offence.

He will appear in Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 2 February 2016.

Elderly woman missing from Blacktown [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 18:47 AEST]

Susana Dos Santos, 76, was last seen at Bowman Hall on Campbell Street, Blacktown, around 12.30pm today (Wednesday 25 November 2015).

She is approximately 155 – 160cm tall, of slim build, with short black/greying hair. At the time, she was wearing a mustard-coloured short sleeve cardigan, black trousers and grey-rimmed glasses.

Mrs Dos Santos requires regular medication; as a result, police and her family are concerned for her welfare.

Anyone who sees Mrs Dos Santos is asked to contact Blacktown Police Station on (02) 9671 9199.

Campsie Police join City of Canterbury Council for White Ribbon Day march to help end violence against women [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 15:32 AEST]

The third annual White Ribbon Day march, from Lakemba to Punchbowl, will start at 6pm this evening (Wednesday 25 November 2015), to help eliminate violence against women and raise funds for White Ribbon Australia.

The theme of this year’s march is calling on everyone involved to share the message ‘there is no excuse for abuse.’

Hosted by Campsie Police and City of Canterbury Council, the march will start on Gillies Street, Lakemba, near the intersection of Haldon Street, and continue on to Parry Park, Punchbowl, where participants will take part in an oath ceremony.

Campsie Local Area Commander, Superintendent Michael McLean, encouraged the local community to join the march and say no to violence against women.

Man charged over alleged pharmacy robberies – Metropolitan Robbery Unit [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 15:00 AEST]

The man demanded prescription medication before leaving the store when the staff complied.

Just before 10.30am the following day (Thursday 5 November 2015), a man allegedly entered the same pharmacy demanding medication.

Whilst a weapon was not sighted, the staff member believed he was holding something underneath his jumper.

Again, after obtaining medication, the man left the store.

Fatal crash – near Lismore [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 14:34 AEST]

The 45-year-old female driver of the sedan was treated for shock and taken to Lismore Base Hospital where she is undergoing mandatory blood and urine testing.

Police investigate suspicious fire – Warnervale [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 14:28 AEST]

Fire & Rescue NSW officers attended to the fire, which was extinguished a short time later, causing extensive damage to a wall and smoke damage to classrooms.

Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Initial investigations indicate the fire was lit deliberately, and police are appealing for anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident to come forward.

Police officers charged over traffic incident – Central Metropolitan Region [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 13:54 AEST]

A male Constable, also attached to a Local Area Command within Central Metropolitan Region was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for obtain financial advantage by deception yesterday (Monday 23 November 2015).

Both men have been charged in relation to a traffic incident that occurred in July 2014.

The men will appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on 7 January 2016.

At this time, both men are the subject of internal management action.

Comanchero associate arrested on outstanding warrants – Strike Force Raptor [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 13:23 AEST]

It will be further alleged he was involved in a police pursuit in August 2013 for which another arrest warrant was issued.

Following extensive inquiries to locate him, Strike Force Raptor officers arrested the 40-year-old man as he entered a car on Brompton Road, Kensington yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 24 November 2015).

Police then executed a search warrant at a nearby home unit where they located assorted steroids, more than $60,000 cash, documentation relating to a fraudulent loan and other items.

The man was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he was charged with the outstanding warrants, four counts each of possess prescribed restricted substances and possess prohibited drug, and one count of deal with the proceeds of crime.

Missing woman located – Daleys Point [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 12:22 AEST]

Officers attached to Brisbane Water Local Area Command were notified by Sophia’s family when she failed to return home and could not be contacted.

About 10.15am today (Wednesday 25 November 2015), the woman was located safe and well nearby.

Police urge golf fans to plan ahead for Emirates Australian Open this weekend [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 12:21 AEST]

Fans will be treated to the Pro-Am Day from 7am today (Wednesday 25 November 2015), with the three main rounds playing out from Thursday to Saturday (26 to 28 November 2015).

The final round will start at 7.30am on Sunday (29 November 2015), to determine who will take home the Stonehaven Cup.

Police have launched Operation Sonol for the duration of the event to ensure the safety and security of players, officials and thousands of spectators expected to attend the competition.

General Duties officers from Central Metropolitan Region will be assisted by specialist units, including Traffic and Highway Patrol Command and Police Transport Command, to provide a highly-visible and mobile policing response throughout the operation.

Police appeal to locate missing woman – Daleys Point [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 11:39 AEST]

Officers attached to Brisbane Water Local Area Command were notified by Sophia’s family when she failed to return home and could not be contacted.

Concerns are held for her welfare, as Sophia’s disappearance is out of character, and she is believed to be without medication.

Sophia is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of slim build, about 170cm tall, with long brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a multi-coloured singlet top, a short skirt, and possibly in possession of a camera and a tripod.

Man charged following pursuit – Cobar [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 10:40 AEST]

It was reported to police, and officers attached to Darling River Local Area Command commenced investigations.

About 8.30am yesterday (Tuesday 24 November 2015), the man allegedly drove the vehicle onto a grass area of Cobar Police Station, before allegedly doing a burn out and driving from the scene.

At 8.55am, police located the vehicle in bushland on the outskirts of Cobar, before a pursuit was initiated.

It was terminated a short time later, on the Barrier Highway.

Man charged over alleged assault in taxi – Glebe [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 06:31 AEST]

During the trip, the male taxi driver allegedly made inappropriate comments towards her and grabbed the woman by the hand.

The woman, concerned by this behaviour directed the driver to stop and exited the taxi.

Detectives from Leichhardt Local Area Command commenced investigations into the incident.

Man charged over alleged road rage incident with replica firearm – Liverpool [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 03:48 AEST]

Police will allege that the driver of the Hyundai tailgated the other driver and pointed what appeared to be a black handgun towards them.

The driver of the Hyundai allegedly pulled alongside and again brandished the black handgun towards the other driver while abusing them.

The driver of the Hyundai then allegedly pulled in front of the other driver and braked harshly.

The other driver contacted triple zero and attended Liverpool Police Station to report the incident.

Man charged over alleged drug supply – Woy Woy [Wednesday, 25/11/2015 00:39 AEST]

Officers allegedly saw a man holding a bag run from a fire exit of a car park and then get into a taxi.

The officers followed the taxi and stopped it on McMasters Road.

Following a search of the man and taxi, officers allegedly located cash, scales and a bag containing 80 grams of amphetamine and 5.7 grams of heroin.

The man was arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station. Following inquiries, a search warrant was later executed at a hotel at Ettalong Beach.

Police appeal after rock thrown – Nowra [Tuesday, 24/11/2015 23:20 AEST]

The driver of the car, a 48-year-old woman, continued driving and reported the incident to police the following day.

The woman was not injured as a result of the incident.

Officers from Shoalhaven Local Area Command commenced an investigation.

Police investigate after stabbing – Canley Vale [Tuesday, 24/11/2015 22:20 AEST]

Officers from Fairfield Local Area attended and found a 54-year-old man with stab wounds to his chest, abdomen, and leg.

A woman, aged 44, had wounds to her arms, and was arrested at the location.

Both have been taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment, where the woman remains under police guard.

The man from Adensor Park is in a serious but stable condition.

Man arrested and charged with property offences – Newcastle City LAC [Tuesday, 24/11/2015 20:52 AEST]

Officers attached to Newcastle City Local Area Command attended and conducted a canvas of the local area, identifying a number of other offences in Cross Street and Buruda Street.

The occupant of the home, a 77-year-old man, was not injured.

Police continued to patrol the area and located a 35-year-old man in Waratah Street.

He was arrested and taken to Waratah Police Station where he was charged with 10 offences including aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, common assault, larceny (x3) and resist officer in execution of duty (x2).

The man was brought to shore by lifesavers but he was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

No information on his identity is available at this stage.

Initial investigations suggest the man was rock fishing at the time.

Missing kayaker located – Kosciuszko National Park [Tuesday, 24/11/2015 18:45 AEST]

He has been taken to Corryong Hospital as a precaution.

The large scale search was conducted by officers from Albury Local Area Command, Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter, NSW National Parks & Wildlife Services, Victoria Police and Corryong State Emergency Service.

Police have been told as the bus travelled toward Campsie, another passenger indecently assaulted her.

Both passengers got off the bus on North Parade, Campsie.

A post mortem revealed the 56-year-old local man died as a result of his injuries to his body.

Wollongong Detectives established Strike Force Allawoona to investigate the matter.

About 9.30am yesterday (Monday 23 November 2015), following investigations, a 42-year-old man was arrested on Dennison Street, Gosford.

He was taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with conspiracy to murder and accessory after the fact to murder.

Police began searching for the 20-year-old after he was noticed missing about 4pm yesterday at the minimum-security centre.

Man threatened with knife during robbery – Banksia [Tuesday, 24/11/2015 06:53 AEST]

Moments later a man, described as 170cm tall with a thin build and wearing a baseball cap with a blue hooded jumper and track pants, opened the driver’s door and sat on top of the driver.

He produced a knife and threatened the man demanding his property including wallet, phone, watch and a bracelet.

After taking the property the man got out of the car without harming the driver and ran north along Hattersley Street, towards the railway station.

The driver alerted police when he returned home and a full investigation is now underway by detectives from St George Local Area Command.

Woman dies in single vehicle crash – Hunter Valley [Tuesday, 24/11/2015 06:39 AEST]

On arrival officers found the vehicle with an 83-year-old female driver deceased inside.

A crime scene has been established while a full investigation is conducted by officers from Hunter Valley Local Area Command.

Police would like to advise motorists that Wine Country Drive will remain closed in both directions for some time while the investigation takes place.

Teenage boy dies in moped crash – Erskine Park [Tuesday, 24/11/2015 06:21 AEST]

Early investigations suggest he was on a moped that collided with the rear of a semi-trailer parked in the street.

He suffered fatal head injuries and died at the scene.

It’s believed he was with another boy at the time of the crash that has run from the scene prior to the arrival of police.

A third boy remained at the scene and is assisting police with inquires.

Police search for escapee – Oberon [Tuesday, 24/11/2015 02:22 AEST]

Police were notified by Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) after 20-year-old Nathan Edwards was noticed missing during an inmate count at 4pm (Monday 23 November 2015). He was last seen about an hour earlier.

He’s described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 187cm tall, with a slim build, blonde hair and blue eyes. Edwards was wearing prison greens and has tattoos on his left thigh and right knee.

Investigators believe he may be heading south towards the Wollongong area.

Anyone who sees Edwards should contact Triple-Zero.

Child run over in hotel car park – Matraville [Monday, 23/11/2015 23:27 AEST]

Police from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command have been told a 42-year-old man was driving his Hilux 4WD utility at low speed out of the car park when he struck a two-year-old girl as she ran from behind another vehicle.

It’s believed the child had been playing in the car park at the time.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics were called to the scene and the child was taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital suffering serious abdominal injuries.

The driver returned a negative breath test at the scene; he’s has been taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Police investigate suspicious Christmas tree fire – Bankstown [Monday, 23/11/2015 19:07 AEST]

Officers from Bankstown Local Area Command attended and the blaze was extinguished by Fire & Rescue NSW.

The fire caused about 1m of damage to the branches of the tree and significant damage to the electrical system powering the tree.

Police are investigating the cause of the blaze and are treating it as suspicious.

It’s believed he left the premises in a blue Ford Focus, NSW registration plates AO03FQ.

Serious concerns are held for Matthew’s welfare as he suffers a medical condition, and his disappearance is out of character.

Matthew is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 185cm tall, of slim build, with a fair complexion, short brown hair, a goatee and a moustache.

Police investigate armed robbery – Queanbeyan [Monday, 23/11/2015 17:17 AEST]

He fled the scene a short time later, taking cash.

Officers attached to Monaro Local Area Command were called and established a crime scene.

A replica firearm was located at the scene, which has been seized for forensic examination.

It is believed Mr Burns frequents Dubbo and Coonamble.

He is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, 170cm tall, with a thin build, and brown eyes.

The image depicts him with long black hair, however, it is now believed to be short.

The armed man fled the scene a short time later, taking a till containing cash. The employee was uninjured during the incident.

Police appeal after robbery – Padstow [Monday, 23/11/2015 12:24 AEST]

The man was then pushed to the ground and punched by three other men, who stole the man’s wallet and mobile phone.

The injured man lost consciousness for a short time before he came to and walked onto Gow Street.

Officers from Bankstown Local Area Command patrolling the area they saw the man and stopped to assist him.

He was taken to Bankstown Hospital and received treatment for lacerations to his legs, hands and face.

Level Crossing campaign comes to the Upper Hunter [Monday, 23/11/2015 11:22 AEST]

The enforcement commences today (Monday 23 November 2015) and runs until 4 December 2015.

This is part of an ongoing series of safety campaigns relating to level crossings, and is a joint initiative by the NSW Police Force and Transport for NSW.

The aim of these campaigns is to reduce the number of collisions on the state’s 1400 public-level crossings. Between 2001/02 and 2014/15, there were 122 collisions involving trains and road vehicles at level crossings throughout the state.

Further, research by the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) indicates there can be up to 10 ‘near hit’ incidents involving trains and a motor vehicle, pedestrian or bicycle riders every month.

Man charged with high-range drink driving and other offences – Darling Point [Monday, 23/11/2015 07:01 AEST]

He was submitted to a roadside breath test where he allegedly returned a positive reading.

He was arrested and taken to Waverley Police Station where he was submitted to a breath analysis which allegedly provided a reading of 0.252.

He was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for the offence of high range drink driving and had his licence suspended. He is due to appear in Waverley Local Court on 16 December 2015.

About 5.45pm the same day police were alerted by a member of the public that the driver had returned to his vehicle and driven from New Beach Road.

Baby remains in a coma after suffering burns – Penrith [Monday, 23/11/2015 06:21 AEST]

The boy had suffered significant burns to his head, neck, chest and back, and was also suffering significant head and facial injuries.

He was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead where he was placed in an induced coma and remains in a critical condition.

Police attended the Penrith home and spoke with a 23-year-old man. He was arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with recklessly inflict grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail and will appear in Penrith Local today.

Police investigate aggravated break-in – Lane Cove North [Monday, 23/11/2015 03:23 AEST]

On arrival officers located two male occupants suffering leg injuries. They were treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore hospital for further treatment to suspected fractures.

Early investigations suggest two men, armed with a bat and a wrench, forced entry to the premises and assaulted the two occupants before running from the location.

No property was stolen and police believe this was a targeted attack.

Detectives from North Shore Local Area Command are investigating the incident and would like to speak with anyone who may have information that could assist.

Police investigate following attempted robbery and stabbing – Bankstown [Monday, 23/11/2015 00:45 AEST]

When noticing the man was attempting to steal the vehicle, the woman alerted the owner of the vehicle, a 27-year-old man, who came out of his home and confronted the man in the car.

Police have been told the pair became involved in a physical altercation, when the man stabbed the 27-year-old a number of times with a knife and a screwdriver.

The armed man fled the scene, and was last seen jumping fences in June Street and Chapel Road, South Bankstown.

The injured man was taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he was treated for injuries to his neck, shoulder, arm and upper chest. He remains there in a stable condition.

Man charged following shooting – Mudgee [Monday, 23/11/2015 00:36 AEST]

The males left the property.

Four males returned to the property early this morning to retrieve a car and police will allege a verbal altercation took place between the owner of the premises and the group.

As the group left in their vehicle police will allege the 34-year-old man fired a bolt-action rifle a number of times at the utility penetrating through the back window, and another lodged in the side panel.

The vehicle continued with the driver and three occupants attending Mudgee Police Station to report the matter.

Police investigate after single-vehicle crash – Lidcombe [Sunday, 22/11/2015 22:33 AEST]

Initial investigations indicate a man was travelling east on Weeroona Road in a red Mitsubishi Lancer, when the vehicle mounted a road divider at a sharp left turn, crossing onto the opposite side of the road, and hitting the fence.

The vehicle continued, rolling onto its roof and damaging a number of tombstones.

The driver and only occupant, a 32-year-old man, was uninjured. He was taken to Westmead Hospital for observation and mandatory testing.

Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.

Seven charged after police attend numerous brawls – Darlinghurst [Sunday, 22/11/2015 19:11 AEST]

Police will allege, while speaking with one man, he became aggressive and pushed two constables.

After refusing to leave the location, the man was cautioned and given a short term 48-hour banning notice. The constables were not injured.

About 3am (Sunday 22 November 2015), police were patrolling along Bayswater Road, when near the intersection of Pennys Lane, it’s alleged a number of people approached the officers, swearing and threatening to assault them.

The officers issued move on directions, which were allegedly ignored a number of times.

Police have been told he was punched and kicked on the ground by a number of unknown people, before his mobile phone and wallet were stolen.

The man attempted to run away but was assaulted again.

Multiple drug offences detected at music festival – Sydney [Sunday, 22/11/2015 16:32 AEST]

During the festival there was a strong police presence with officers from Sydney City Local Area Command, Redfern Region Enforcement Squad, and the Dog Unit in attendance.

The operation was targeting anti-social behaviour, alcohol-related crime and drugs.

In one incident, a 22-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly jumped in the water at Woolloomooloo Bay and again at Farm Cove; police will allege he was in possession of MDMA.

He was taken to the Man O War steps by officers from the Marine Area Command, where he was arrested and taken to Sydney City Police Station.

Police have been told three people were seen getting onto a small boat which moved towards to city.

About 6.45am, police located the boat and three men – one aged 26 and two aged 28 – at Rose Bay boat ramp.

The men were issued with infringement notices for jump onto/from bridge/structure that forms part of a road under the Roads Regulation 2008.

Four in hospital after car hits house near Lismore [Sunday, 22/11/2015 12:20 AEST]

Two women and one man were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Lismore Base Hospital; a second man allegedly left the scene before police arrived but has since presented himself to the hospital where he’s being treated. It’s believed they are in their 20s and 30s.

Two people who were in the house at the time were shaken but not injured. A man – sleeping in the garage when the crash occurred – had a narrow escape when the parked car was forced into the home’s front wall and garage door.

The house has sustained significant structural damage to the front lounge room and garage.

Police are now appealing for anyone who saw the crash – or the vehicle leading up to the impact – to contact Crash Investigators.

Man arrested following stabbing – Tumbi Umbi [Sunday, 22/11/2015 07:53 AEST]

During the altercation, the 26-year-old man sustained a stab wound to the abdomen.

He was driven by his girlfriend to a home on Hamilton Street, Tumbi Umbi, where police and emergency services attended.

He was treated by Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Gosford Hospital where he underwent surgery. He is currently in an induced coma.

Police investigate stabbing – Darling Harbour [Sunday, 22/11/2015 06:45 AEST]

On arrival, officers from Sydney City Local Area Command located a 22-year-old man with a stab wound to the side of his head.

He was treated by Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to St Vincent Hospital in a stable condition. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

During the altercation, a 19-year-old man was pushed to the ground and his mobile phone was stolen.

During a subsequent search of the man and his luggage, police located methylamphetamine (ice) and two glass ‘ice’ pipes.

The 24-year-old male driver was treated at the scene by Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries.

Police located cash on the man and a Browning semi-automatic 9mm pistol and ammunition in his vehicle. The items were seized.

He was charged with possess pistol, possess unregistered firearm, not keep firearm safely, possess ammunition, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, and drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous.

Truck driver charged with high-range drink-driving – Nabiac [Sunday, 22/11/2015 02:44 AEST]

Shortly after, police attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command located and stopped the vehicle.

The male driver was breath tested and provided a positive reading.

He was arrested and taken to Nabiac Police Station, where he underwent a breath-analysis test, which returned an alleged reading of 0.152.

The 69-year-old man was issued with a court attendance notice for the offence of high-range PCA and his driver licence was suspended.

Twelve injured when bus rolls south of Goulburn [Saturday, 21/11/2015 17:14 AEST]

A bus, carrying staff and students from the Australian Defence Force Academy, rolled onto its side with several passengers seriously injured.

Police from The Hume Local Area Command, Fire & Rescue NSW, and Rural Fire Service (RFA) attended the scene as well as two helicopters and multiple ambulances.

Two injured passengers were airlifted to Canberra Hospital, one passenger was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital, nine passengers have been taken by road to hospital.

Man charged over alleged child procurement offences – Sex Crimes Squad [Saturday, 21/11/2015 11:23 AEST]

A joint investigation was commenced, with assistance also provided by the Australian Federal Police’s Child Protections Operations under the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET), a joint-agency approach to tackling crimes against children.

Police spoke with the man on a number of occasions and will allege he made a number of sexually explicit comments and arranged to meet another person.

Just after 11am yesterday (Friday 20 November 2015), detectives arrested a 55-year-old man at Westmead.

Following the arrest, a search warrant was also conducted at a home unit in Sydney where police located and seized computers, mobile phones and electronic storage devices.

Two men charged after police seize 24kg of cannabis – Boggabilla [Saturday, 21/11/2015 10:39 AEST]

Operation Northmore XII is a joint traffic lead operation between Barwon Local Area Command, Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, Queensland Police, and Roads and Maritime Services (RMS).

As part of this operation, officers stopped a northbound white Iveco van with two men inside.

Police spoke with the driver and subjected him to a random breath test which provided a negative result.

The driver was further subjected to a random drug test which allegedly proved positive.

Police investigate brawl – Bondi [Saturday, 21/11/2015 07:05 AEST]

On arrival, police located a 27-year-old man suffering a facial injury from a glass bottle.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to St Vincents Hospital.

His injuries are not considered life threatening.

Three men were arrested nearby and taken to Waverley Police Station where they are currently assisting police with inquiries.

Seven vehicles and two buildings damaged following car crash – Albion Park Rail [Saturday, 21/11/2015 06:39 AEST]

Initial investigations suggest a man was attempting to drive his Mitsubishi Pajero 4WD into a garage.

The 4WD has accelerated and crashed through the rear brick wall of the garage into a boat on a trailer. The trailer has then become lodged in the front of the Mitsubishi.

The driver has then reversed the Mitsubishi and collided with a Toyota Hilux and another boat on a trailer across the road.

This impact caused another garage across the road to collapse on top of the second boat and a nearby camper trailer.

Police investigate fast food restaurant robbery – Padstow [Saturday, 21/11/2015 03:27 AEST]

He approached the male attendant and threatened him while demanding money from the till.

The man stole an amount of cash before running from the location.

Officers from Bankstown Local Area Command along with the dog squad responded to the incident but were unable to locate the man.

The employee wasn’t hurt during the robbery and a crime scene is now being examined by detectives and specialist forensic officers.
