Richmond Hill, Georgia, police officer Cpl. Paul Carter took aim and fired his Glock 17T training pistol on fellow officer Cpl. Keith Welch successfully putting two marking rounds on his shoulder.

Fortunately, the confrontation was part of a department training exercise designed to put Richmond Hill police officers in high stress situations and gauge their reactions.

“This was part of a realistic training scenario. It gives officers a chance to respond to potentially dangerous situations and learn to be more effective in how they handle them,” department training officer Lt. Jason Sakelarios said.
