Queensland Man Injured Several Officers Charged With Four Counts Of Serious Assault Police

Police have charged a 34-year-old man after he allegedly assaulted several officers in Hervey Bay early this morning.

Around 4am, officers responded to a disturbance at a hospital in Pialba and when they were escorting a man outside a male officer was allegedly head-butted.

The 22-year-old constable sustained a facial injury which required stitches.

While in custody, the man allegedly spat blood at a 41-year-old male senior constable.

Both officers will be required to undergo disease testing.

It will further be alleged the man bit a 26-year-old female constable on the hand and tried to kick another male officer while in custody.

A 34-year-old Urangan man has been charged with four counts of serious assault police, one count each of assault police and obstruct police and two counts of causing a public nuisance.

He is due to appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on July 13.
