Man To Face Court After Throwing Axe At Queensland Police Officer

A 24-year-old Blackbutt man has been charged with a range of assault charges after he threw an axe at a female police officer. No one was injured in the incident.

Police were investigating reports of an assault and animal cruelty incident in Cressbrook St, Toogoolawah on Monday night when, at about 9.20pm, they located a man armed with an axe and a knife.

Police directed the man to put the weapons down, and it will be alleged that the man pointed the axe at two male senior constables and threatened to harm them.

It will be further alleged that the man threatened a female senior constable before throwing the axe at her.
