Dunedin Police Officers Spat On, Blood Tests Needed

Two New Zealand Police officers are undergoing blood tests after being spat at by an offender.

The incident occurred after officers were called to a domestic incident at a Dunedin address on Sunday, a police spokesman said.

While arresting the offender both officers were spat on.

“In cases where an offender is known to have a medical condition, officers undergo a precautionary blood test,” he said.
