Country Victoria Police Calls Stay ‘In House’ To Protect Family Violence Victims

Outdated analogue radios in country Victoria that allow people to listen in on police operations will be progressively replaced with a secured digital system from next month.

Gisborne police senior sergeant Paul Cliffe said an encrypted digital communication system would protect the privacy of family violence victims, in particular, in smaller regional areas and would stop perpetrators tracking police movements.
