AFP Commissioner Andrew Colvin Says Police Must Embrace Social Media Scrutiny

Australia’s top cop has warned police need to be “acutely aware” their actions could be filmed and scrutinised through social media.

Speaking at the signing of the ACT Policing purchase agreement in Canberra, Australian Federal Police Commissioner Andrew Colvin said the proliferation of social media and the 24-hour news cycle presented fresh challenges for law enforcement agencies.
